Our story

Those who are looking for the best Latvian restaurants in Riga will hardly know that there is a high-class restaurant away from Riga's Old Town in a former wood processing factory. The atmospheric brown-bricked building with over a hundred-year-long history is located in the industrial part of the city. There, chef Max Cekot and his team refurbished the spiral staircase, planted live pines, and worked on every detail so that you could have your most special and unforgettable dinner.

Our vision

Max Cekot Kitchen is remarkably different from other Riga restaurants. The interior was specially designed and hand-crafted by local artisans so that every detail would enhance your dining experience and add to the inimitable atmosphere of the place. Every element of the design has its meaning, from a blue line crossing the wooden chef's table to the bicycle chain holding metal heat lamps or the lava pattern on the plates. And every dish offered to you by our top-notch chefs is the result of their original ideas and inspiration and can't be found elsewhere.

Our cuisine

At Max Cekot Kitchen, we offer our guests a new vision of modern Latvian cuisine. Only three evenings a week, the chef and the team of our Riga restaurant delight the guests with a 14-course seasonal tasting menu that, at their desire, is paired with 5 varieties of specially selected wine or homemade soft drinks. While new dishes appear on the menu once in three weeks, the entire set menu changes once every two months.
During the evening, you have the opportunity to observe how the dishes are being prepared in the open chef's kitchen, as well as to hear the origin story of every dish and every ingredient in it from the chef himself. The unique concept of combining the finest ingredients at their peak, creative ideas for modern Latvian cuisine, and individual attention to each guest will turn your dinner into an unforgettable culinary experience that is nothing but perfect.

Our garden

At Max Cekot Kitchen, we want to add only the freshest vegetables, herbs, and cresses to our guests' dishes. Therefore, we have a summer garden and indoor glasshouses so that we could provide the finest ingredients to the kitchen all year round. Together with the experts from the University of Latvia, we experiment and explore how the plants are growing. Thus, we can learn from nature, come up with new ideas for our set menu and vegetarian recipes, and transfer our philosophy to the plate.
